Cheers, Tom Traxx (www.traxxevents.com) and Spatial (www.spatialsounds.com) have joined forces for an event which should provide the perfect close to the summer... Sunday 24th August, 2003 Traxx & Spatial Present Larry Heard (aka Mr Fingers) and Brett Dancer Venue: The 'Clyde Cruiser' ship, sailing along Loch Long and Loch Goil Capacity: 250 There are almost no superlatives left to describe the music of Larry Heard. Under both his own name and monikers such as Mr Fingers, Fingers Inc and Gherkin Jerks, he has produced countless classic tracks and a string of beautiful and groundbreaking albums. Heard's productions possess a magical quality which transcends musical genres, but many know him best for deep house masterpieces such as Can U Feel It, Washing Machine and Mystery Of Love (with Robert Owens). Heard is cited as an inspiration by many well-known producers, and his musical influence can be heard in the work of countless artists. Like his productions, Larry Heard's DJ sets are characterised by soul, warmth and emotion. He has the ability to craft a gorgeous laid-back groove with spellbinding instrumentals and vocals which send shivers down the spine, but also the versatility to up the tempo with the occasional foray into old-school Chicago jack trax. In the last few years alone, Larry's DJing talents have seen him play at venues in Tokyo, Detroit, Chicago, Osaka and London to name but a few, and he is relishing the opportunity to return to Scotland. Joining Larry behind the decks will be Brett Dancer, owner of the Track Mode record label. A talented DJ and producer from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dancer established Track Mode in 1995 as an outlet for "the best that deep house has to offer", and to date the label can boast releases from artists such as Moodymann, Jordan Fields, Larry Heard, Chris Gray, Theo Parrish and Shake. Listening to the sounds of Larry Heard and Brett Dancer aboard a ship sailing through some of the most breathtaking Scottish scenery promises to be a unique and very special experience. The journey: departing from Victoria Harbour, Greenock, along to Loch Long and Loch Goil. These are unrivalled scenic sailing waters, affording good shelter in most weather conditions, ranging from the steep-sided mountainous fjord-like shores of Loch Long and Loch Goil. In a nutshell, this day sail will afford some of the most stunning scenery Scotland has to offer whilst having your ears massaged by some of the finest house music in the world.
