I'd be careful to write off all Numark stuffs. My old Numark, the DM1800MX I
think it was, lasted about 8 years, and was still quite usable, if dirty
sounding when I sold it. The pots got crappy after a while, but nothing
wrong with the circuitry or the wiring that I could tell. I also gigged with
it a fair amount. Traxx said he still uses this mixer at home, and I know
others that got lots of miles out of it. At the time, it was a relatively
high-end mixer, and it wasn't until a few years later that their quality
turned south, as they changed their focus to budget products. As this new
turntable is a high-end device for them in contrast to their utterly
appauling budget units (*ahem* Kent :), I'd bet the quality will be better
(although I wouldn't take the chance myself until I've seen the long-term
reviews - as you said). However, this is not the first glowing review I've
seen of them. I can understand the temptation and wouldn't write them off
based on their sh*tty reputation from the late '90s onwards.
