Theo : a great dj and not a super producer
Moodyman : a great producer and not as skilled as theo on the decks
eventhough 'natural aspirations' is the first sound signature release i
didn't buy, i'm still puzzled by the above statements.
i think theo's productions have so much more depth in them then any other
house producer out there.
hmm well he has his own feeling which is a very nice one. he is very good
with those yearning rhodes keys, and samples...but overall i think kdj wipes
the floor with theo. he has a much bigger range, from straight up house like
his soulcity record, to techno like analog live and some of the more recent
stuff. he is the more talented sound designer by far. not that theo isn't
talented but his stuff is more in the realm of soundscapes, which doesnt
make his music any less beautiful but i just dont think it is in the same
area as kdj...who knows maybe its not fair to compare, they have pretty
different approaches really, usually. soundscapes take a different kind of
sound design and production that maybe i just don't get as excited by. i
have far more great kdj music than theo p music tho and i didnt pick up a
s.sig from drunken drums until this new one. i think they are mostly too
"nice" sounding, tame..
