I have to drop a little recommendation for this new-ish record shop in amsterdam. (3 months old) anyone living or visiting should check it out - they have some rare s**t, and we all like the rare s**t eh?
It's just near rushhour too, on the next street up from the main post office as you walk up from rushhour - opposite an optician (glasses shop) it was formerly a CD shop, with records in the basement, and now the records have taken up the whole shop. They have a large disco/boogie selection - very very good, lots of rarities - as good as specialist selection you'll get anywhere. A decent deleted techno section (they had a couple of nice original transmat pressings at 15 eu), a load of house, and, to be honest probably more hip hop than anything else (didn't get a chance to go through that) & loads of other oddities - (soundtracks/library lp's blah blah) 2 friendly sorts working there - very knowledgeable too, with obviously some hot sources. their prices are the going rate (i.e. relatively expensive). But I bet my last euro that you'll find something in there you've been looking for for a while. so, I apologise as this is OT, or has shag all to do with the list, but hey - it's just a little TIP!
