YNQ are a contemporary 'funk/jazz' band in the best sense of the word 
that release stuff on Stones Throw (maybe other labels?). They're 
pretty good, being both contemporary but also steeped in the sounds 
of the sixties and seventies without being stuck there. For evidence 
of their prowess, just check the tracks that they play on, on the 
Madlib LP 'Shades Of Blue' LP - which is well worth a look anyhow.

P.S. Anyone London peeps going to see Rolando at Fabric after the 313 
party this Sat? I think he's on a 3 or thereabouts.
