It does everything you want and mostly avoids things you don't want.
Ableton Live also has great potential -- as proved by Ectomorph, but it is all about synchronized playback, and you have to go through every track and set warp markers if you want them to sound good. On the other hand, it can square up notoriously hard to mix material, like disco done with a live drummer.
