(Nice to see you de-lurk, Mr. Ozy)

Well, as you might imagine, I went. (First time out since Dan Bell ...
plz 2 send more Detroit people, I need to get out more.)

You're lucky - Ellen Allien got her own show at LA Electroclash HQ The Echo,
and you can't be two places at once, so I missed out on her ...

(For that matter, Carl Craig was a mile away from Rich at Wax. I felt
like I was at the DEMF, trying to decide between the 5 afterparties
I really wanted to go to. AUGGGH!)

He ended his LA set with a bootleg remix of Kosheen's "Hide You" that
was really interesting (and not even remotely D'n'B-ish). Now *that*
took me by surprise ...

Not much else to say other than to repeat what Ozy said in his post,
no real gear problems down here, so Rich was in a good mood (despite
some blonde ditz he affectionately(?) nicknamed "Psycho" constantly
bugging him when he was in the mix). Was nice to see that after the
lost luggage fiasco of Sonar.

Ob313: Saw Vidal (viagratek, late of this 313 parish) and finally met
[EMAIL PROTECTED], LA's latest theft from Detroit :-)

Apparently Rich's got a part-time HQ in Berlin, so I'm gonna hit him up
for favorite spots/restaurants/clubs tips - I'm headed over there in
mid-January (brrrrrr) for a long weekend ...

Speaking of trips ...

Remember that British Airways fare I posted the other day? Well,
Virgin (a much nicer airline to fly) matched it, *and* added a $20-off
on-line booking discount. Wahoo! So I booked 2 sets of flights for
all of $278 each, r/t from Los Angeles. w00t!@ Haven't seen that low
a (total) fare for West Coast - London since the Freddie Laker days ...

Anyway, the first set is mid-January (going on to Berlin, might stay over
one night in London on the way back) and the second set is from March 30
to April 12 - so, erm, how about that spring 313 London party then lads? :-)

        - Greg
