Richie Hawtin & Ricardo Villalobos B2B @ Fabric This SaturdaySaturday 29th
November 2003 Richie Hawtin AKA Plastikman & Ricardo Villalobos - Back To
Back for 8 Hours @ Fabric

This Saturday, Fabric will host a very special night of musicS

Richie Hawtin is known for his meticulous ear for sound quality, so it seems
appropriate that he is to be let loose on Fabric¹s awesome sound system.
It¹s an occasion that the club have been waiting four years to make happen,
and it¹s clear that there¹s quite a buzz about his forthcoming appearance.

It¹s been a watershed year for Hawtin, with the release of the long-awaited
fifth Plastikman album, OCloser¹, in October, breaking a long production
silence. His new look and relocation to Berlin are also significant
developments, and it¹s probably fair to say that he has renewed vigour in
his approach to DJing. Richie¹s schedule has always been busy, verging on
workaholic, but recently he states a preference for playing longer sets and
trying harder than ever to encompass more mind-boggling breadth into them.
And that¹s before we¹ve even covered the technical side to his art where
he¹s pushing the envelope as ever (see details of the CTRL setup at
http://www.m-nus.com)

Hawtin has stated that part of the reason for his relocation to Berlin is to
enable him to be around people that inspire him, musically, and one of these
people is Ricardo Villalobos. The pair¹s friendship has been pretty well
documented this year. The two have shared residencies at Cocoon¹s Ibiza
seasons, and Villalobos has guested at Hawtin¹s M_Nus parties in the U.S.
There¹s a clear mutual respect there one that is born from a shared
resolutely forward-thinking approach to their music.

Ricardo Villalobos is no stranger to Fabric, having fallen in love with the
place this year during his previous DJ appearances. He¹s surely one of the
rising stars in European electronic music, both as a Producer (check out
2003¹s OAlcachofa¹ album) and an incredibly expressive DJ. Villalobos has an
intuitive knack of being extremely cutting edge whilst never rubbing your
face in the fact taking risks with his selection that you wouldn¹t even
register, such is the fluency of his presentation.

Whilst either DJ could and would rock Fabric individually, Saturday is
guaranteed to be greater than the sum of it¹s partsS and if that¹s not an
exciting prospect check your pulse.
