That Thinnerism site is quite a nice one - I haven't seen that before but it's
definitely one that I'd say is an example of a label site I like.

A lot of techno labels have sites that annoy me for several reasons: the main
ones being overly dependent on style over content (ie, you arrive at the site
and it opens up a full-screen window with an overdesigned, bulky bit of Flash
gimmickry), and being too keen to make noise straight away (ie, you arrive at
the site and suddenly it starts playing a low-fi rendition of one of the
label's releases - I hate that as I'm usually listening to music on my PC when
looking at sites, and the last thing I need is a sudden blast of choppy sound
blaring over what I'm listening to).

I like the opportunity to listen to sound clips from releases, to buy those
releases (either mail-order the vinyl or pay for mp3s), to view comprehensive
discographies, to look at any relevant info about artists on the label (links
to interviews on other sites etc) and various other stuff. I'm also more
inclined to like a site that looks as if it gets updated regularly - nothing
says "this label is defunct" more than a website saying "our next release is
due for release in February 2002!" and nothing more recent than that.

That's my two pence, for what it's worth :)
