... just for the record : La Haine dates from 1995, has it just been released 
in the US ? and since then Kassovitz has moved to Hollywood (Gothika, with 
Halle Berry) ; the "banlieue" (with an "e") is French for "suburbs", so you've 
got "good" (posh) suburbs and "bad" (projects etc) suburbs.
