I'm not about Detroit, but cicadas have a huge presence across the rivier in Windsor. I was nine when that last huge group hit the area, and it was definitely a "crunchy" summer.

But I don't think the concrete jungle of downtown Detroit could support too many of them. The only bugs we'll probably have to worry about stepping on are those kandi raver massage trains.

hey...does anyone know if the detroit area gets the broodx 17 year
cicadas? just thought of that...hundreds of thousands of techno fans
dancing with millions and millions of cicadas? haha. this might be the
best movement ever, regardless of the lineup.

although maybe detroit is far enough north that the ground won't heat up
enough by the festival to make them come out...?

i dont know...
