I agree - they had a good run of releases going for a while but Soma has just fizzled. I think it started to happen right around 1999-2000. I was honestly looking forward to hearing the new Envoy LP since I like "Where There's Life". Thinking maybe Enoy would put some life back into the label, man was I ever disappointed.
same goes for Glasgow Underground - they had a few good records until they let Mateo and Matos take over with their flaccid house music. other labels mentioned so far are better than both Soma and GU combined (imo) MEK "Robert Taylor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "Jason Brunton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 4.co.uk> cc: "313" <313@hyperreal.org> Subject: RE: (313) Scottish record labels 07/21/04 04:52 AM There are some great early Slam and Daft Punk records, Surgeon, Rejuvination, Chaser, Russ Gabriel, Maas, Funk D'Void, Space DJs, Gene Farris, Schatrax, Scott Grooves - but lately they've been puttting out too many dull techhouse Silicone Soul Records and dull loopy Percy X records -----Original Message----- From: Jason Brunton [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 21, 2004 8:44 AM To: Robert Taylor Cc: 313 Subject: Re: (313) Scottish record labels I disagree- they've ALWAYS been wack :) Jason On 21 Jul 2004, at 10:42, Robert Taylor wrote: > Soma is wack these days > ##################################################################################### Note: Any views or opinions are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Channel Four Television Corporation unless specifically stated.
