OK - I would like to add a couple more to my 'top 10' which should have really been there yesterday but I was trying to do three things at once so I missed them off (I *am* busy here believe it or not. :-)
Additions: Matt Chester - Into the Fall EP - 11th Hour This was a particularly dumb omission because yesterday, as on most days since I got a copy, one or more tracks from the EP were on my Minidisk play list of that day! It's enough to say that when an EP of several tracks stays good on repeated listens for this long (and when you can't make up your mind which is your favourite!) you're dealing with something excellent and beyond. A very special yet at the same time a somehow modest release. Cheers Matt! Juan Atkins - Back To Basics Part 1 - New Religion/Regal Juan Atkins - Back To Basics Part 2 - New Religion/Regal Juan Atkins - Fast Forward - New Religion/Regal Juan Atkins - Rebound - Subject Detroit Juan Atkins - Outer Space - Metroplex A busy year for Atkins (I think in total 11 new tracks). There's not a poor release amongst them imo. My favourite though I think is Back to Basics part 1. It's all about the extra tweek which comes in for no more than a minute halfway through the original mix! Keep up the momentum please Mr Atkins! k -----Original Message----- From: fab. I really like that release, not too glitch, no too minimal or tech house. CMYK is a good Spanish label. >>John Tejada & Titonton Duvante - Passing Through - Amalgama: I havent heard this one but John has definitely mad a huge comeback late 2004. I particularly like his double on Plug Research, Logic Memory Center. >>Sten - Eccentric - Dial Another great release from the Dial camp. I really like their brand of moody techno. This years other highlights were Carsten Jost Lost Tracks ep and the lovely Absence of Blight lp from Lawrence. I also recommend their 2hr set on Betalounge.com where they do something ive always wanted to hear - mixing german minimal house with theo's appetite for the abstract (IIRC). >>Jeff Mills - Expanded - Axis Such a good release! I particularly like the A side... Mills has been releasing a lot of stuff this year, and I agree with your choice of the Expanded ep - the set of 3 7"s on white vinyl Regarding the various CC and Planet E represses...im just really really happy they are getting re-released. I have kind of always snubbed CC for Godknowswhateverreason and know I am starting to realize instead that I have missed out on just loads of super high quality techno and house, and one of electronic music's pioneers. Take care, fab. ---- CITYMORB MUSIC www.citymorb.net | [EMAIL PROTECTED]
