Yesterday I hung around my hotel until around 530ish, there was a free
party here at the pontchartrain and for about an hour they had free
redbull--and smart water that lasted longer. When I was there Keith
Stoll was listed at that time slot. The free drinks and urb magazine
was a nice bonus... better than tea and usa today. We had to buy wrist
bands at cobo hall, I didn't go on friday, because by the time we got
settled the acts i wanted to see, had played. Sunday was the first
time that there were no techno acts on smaller stages that i was
interested in. The tronic marco carola ben sims misstress barbara
possie were in the underground stage--packed but not my style at all.
Seems like there is a new bread of raver trash in the midwest... Weird
vibe this year, this is the first year where flashing pacifiers were
sold like at a sports event or circus, vendors going up and down the
heavy foot traffic areas, selling that junk. I would not call it a
rave, but a circus.
Model 500 played live classics, which was very entertaining but lacking
new material.
Redman made an appearance and did a few cuts, before introducing "kevin
saunder" --then i went back to the hotel and called it a night because
I got enough rave at substance in the broderick tower.
I wish Carl Craig was the one behind it, not kevin!!! I still had alot
of fun, a good 10$ music event.
I would detail more but i must pack and check-out.
