B2 'grand jazz' is incredibly funky and hasn't dated one millisecond. it
is much more original and creative than typical swing jazz house. the
rest of the 12" is pretty good too. cajmere's 'underground goodies'
remix of dajae's 'you got me up' pretty much started the trend and
appears to have been the blueprint for 'doop'. sorry to rekindle
painful memories.
a few years ago there was a nice double page article in a UK mag
(muzik?) in which derrick may talked about his all time & then current
favourite records. i think it was divided up into colored columns for
each different style ie current club, home listening etc. if anyone has
a copy of this and is willing to scan it & send it to me that would be
mucho appreciated. thanx a bunch.
