Yup. I was going to post this earlier and got side tracked. James "John Doe/Jay Dee/J Dilla" Yancey died in LA. The cause of death has been listed in the news as either kidney failure, liver failure, or bone marrow disease (i.e. still unknown). This is a great loss for the world of music. I've only met him in passing maybe 10 years ago, but the impact his music has had on me is quite significant.
