Its like the old boys network type thing, Bicknell is just booking old
friends to play for him and some times not really thinking about it to
much.

Colin Dale and Bicknell go way back, Colin use to play lost back in the
day when he was good, may be it was just a lazy booking.

That's the thing. I know Spacebase is less confined to older sounds now than in its original configuration, but you would think something would be communicated to these guys when they get booked for a set there, such as "don't play crap, foo". I'd say they have no excuse because it's not like they don't have the records, but I have a vague recollection from a conversation last night that Colin Dale sold all of his records pre-'95!?!?! Don't quote me on that, as it's all a bit fuzzy, but still - if it's true it goes to show how completely he's turned his back on the sounds he used to push.

Anyway... Theo Parrish played Plastic People last night. He was pretty on-form but I struggled to get really in to it. The place was pretty packed. Think it sold out. He was really rocking the mixer at one point - I think it was when he played that TOM Project track, and I really enjoyed that, but for some reason I never really got in to it as much as I would've normally. Prolly some odd reaction to Belgian ale on a Sunday night.

Bring on the 4-day weekend!
