Hello Chicago friends-

Just a quick note here to inform you of two great shows in Chicago...today
and tomorrow... Thu.Jan.18th (Smart Bar) + Fri.Jan.19th (Sonotheque). I am
personally involved with co-promoting the Friday night event, but have been
helping to spread the word about both events. We hope to see you at both!
Each party promises to be plenty fun and well worth the admission and travel
in this Chicago cold weather. :)

We have received an overwhelming amount of press previews from
local/national press for this event. There are even some contests running
for those of you who feel lucky. Some press love comes from XLR8R,
Flavorpill Chicago, TimeOutChicago, UR Chicago, GapersBlock.com, New City,
The Onion, RedEye/Metromix, Illinois Entertainer, etc.

Dear Friends-
With a new year comes a new beginning. We do hope you can join us for the
return of Chicago's most eclectic and musically diverse clubnights: YOUR
FORMULA LIFE returns with a vengeance to Chicago's acclaimed Sonotheque
nightclub with an event feature stocked from start to finish... early
arrival VERY strongly suggested.
-MEIOTIC + friends

More about the artists:

DEREK PLASLAIKO -DJ set-
(Ghostly, Spectral labels - YFL resident - Detroit/NYC)

Derek's back, and he's got a new trophy in tow.

The YFL resident was recently honored in the Village Voice 2006 ³Best Of
NYC² poll as his tear through New York City's much ballyhooed
nightclub/party scene (via his residency with the Bunker @ Subtonic & his
involvement with the Wolf + Lamb parties) has injected the Big Apple with a
healthy dose of the ex-Detroiter's partymaking & dancefloor freaking DJ
serum. It's guaranteed tomfoolery when Plaslaiko makes party at YFL... the
residency continues tonight.

PLUS DEVICE -live PA-
(HEFTY Records - from Detroit/Chicago)

"Since the release of the PLUS DEVICE debut Body Heat EP earlier in 2006, a
buzz is brewing about who is behind the ultra secretive PLUS DEVICE
project... Who or what the identity of PLUS DEVICE is and where they're from
is not important. Simply put this on your turntable and enjoy these
electro-funk masterpieces. Recommended to fans of Kraftwerk, Egyptian Lover,
Afrika Bambaataa, Man Parrish, Mantronix, AFX/Analord, Trax Records, Juan
Atkins/ Model 500, Adult, Aux 88, Dopplereffekt." -Music for Robots

There has been much speculation regarding the actual identity of Plus Device
(Juan Atkins, Morgan Geist, Drexciya, Tadd Mullinix and Egyptian Lover are
some names that have been referenced). All we can confirm about Plus Device
is the following:
1) It is a project featuring well known electronic music musician(s).
2) Plus Device "creates electro-funk/electro-pop music that is destined for
cult classic status." (MFR)

Plus Device¹s fantastic debut album, Puncture, is out now on HEFTY Records.
Hot on the heels of an URB Magazine feature and favorable Pitchfork track
review, this special performance marks PD¹s worldwide live debut. The PD
collective are promising a proper, dirty dance set that is not to be missed!

DAEDELUS -DJ set-
(Mush, Ninja Tune, Plug Research, Alpha Pup labels - from Los Angeles)

Daedelus has been making music for several years now and has recorded for
labels like Mush, Plug Research, Alpha Pup, Laboratory Instinct and Eastern
Developments. Over the years, he has collaborated with the likes of
Madvillain (MF Doom and Madlib), Nobody, Beans, Prefuse 73, Busdriver, TTC,
Subtitle and many others. His live show utilizes a custom-built sample
trigger device, the Monome, and software package. He wows audiences all
across the U.S., Europe, and Japan with his original compositions, blending
honeyed film soundtracks from the 30s and 40s with beats that bang
impressively in the present. His most recent release, ³Denies the Day¹s
Demise,² was released by Mush Records on May 9, 2006. On September 25, 2006,
Mush Records released the first single off his album, entitled ³Sundown²,
which features remixes by Diplo, Dark Party (aka Eliot Lipp & Leo 123) and
Lulu Mushi. A new EP offering, ŒThrow A Fit,¹ was released by Alpha Pup
Records on October 10, 2006. He is currently working on new material, both
as a solo artist and as a member of Adventure Time and The Long Lost.

Daedelus¹ last set in Chicago blew the roof off at Sonotheque... this one
promises to be another spectacular musical romp. For this appearance, he is
spinning a special dancefloor DJ set, which promises to be just as fun and
eclectic as his own live sets.

folks at Tokion Magazine. Give a listen!

ATOMLY -live PA-
(Atomiq, Fear, Carpark labels - from Berlin)

After hunkering down and absorbing all that Berlin's healthy art and music
scene has to offer, Atomly - the ridiculously diverse producer with the
Viking like stature - returns stateside for a few select dates. We of course
needed to have him play for us here in his REAL home of Chicago, and this
night will actually have the added bonus of this being his Chicago birthday
party... Make sure you come out and holla atcha boy.
