Body Release was the band that Titonton Duvante, Charles Noel
[Archetyp / Monochrome], Mike Szewczyk [Bath / Txtbeak] and myself
formed in 1991.. quickly cashing in on the sounds of Rhythm is
Rhythm, Underground Resistance, NJOI, Cabaret Voltaire's Colours EP,
LFO, 808 State, Shades of Rhythm, Altern 8, Nitzer Ebb, Meat Beat
Manifesto and I guess Moby + the Prodigy [a very small amount]....
We played raves throughout the midwest from 1991-1993 and had such
glorious moments like driving to the middle of nowhere for a rave in
what we think was Wisconsin, being headliners in Ft. Wayne, Indiana
to a crowd of goth kids, and opening for Bizarre Inc. Although we
never had a formal release as b|re, we did manage to escape getting
sponsored by Fresh Jive + Split.
They were after us.
In May 1993, I gave my 1 pair of phat pants to Damian Higgins. We
broke the band up and instantly became ele_mental [then evolved into
Firexit and compound]; for the following 14 years there was host of
parties + events in Columbus / Dayton / Cleveland / Detroit that we
became involved in, hosting notables such as Juan Atkins, Dan Bell,
Carl Craig, Claude Young, Shake, Dan Curtin, Paul Johnson, Rolando,
Boo Williams, Morgan Geist, Dego, Mike Grant, Glenn Underground,
Paris da Black Fu, Moonstarr, Dave Cooper, Brian Gillespie,
Billeebob, and many, many others, yes, including Dieselboyâ„¢. Our
guests of honor included some people you may have heard of like
Richie Hawtin and Mad Mike Banks.
We are doing a very, very special engagement at BOMA [Bar of Modern
Art] this Friday, 21 Dec 2007 in Columbus; the first reunion of the 4
of us playing live, WITH HARDWARE, together again and a DJ tag team
full of crispy cymbals and Johnny Cuts by Titonton, Charles, and Todd.
The event will be held at BOMA (583 E Broad Street, Columbus, OH),
starting at 10 PM with special guest opener Jason Allen (booked by
Klever X Productions Columbus OH). Tickets at the door will be $10.00.

some other history:
"Body Release was Columbus Ohio's "original" techno band, resulting
in all members eventually going off to do their own things (as of
2001:) Sines and Titonton under their own names, Charles Noel as
Archetyp / Monochrome and the 21/22 Corporation, and Mike Szewczyk as
Bath / Txtbeak. " -- The Evolution Control Committee / Mark Gunderson
circa 1992, i will regret this:
