Chad Hugo is well familiar with techno & house... even Kanye used to
work with E-Smoove. Most of those R&B producers are familiar with
house and dance. Lil' Jon too.

Drop It Like It's Hot is a bad tune! The best thing he and Pharrell

My abiding memory of Tresor during its closing parties is of an
enourmous transvestite playing Drop It in that tiny little bar room
upstairs. That was the point when I got The Neptunes and them being
'techno'.

It 'tries' but is not that good really. I prefer Snoop when he's not
trying to be underground (sort of) Detroit.

I thought something similar when I first heard it. Not so much of Juan
and Derrick in there but definitely a healthy dose of early eighties
synthy RnB and a dash of Bernie Worrell.
I even quite liked it at first, at least up to the bit where he raps,
but I'm sick to death of it now since they play it about 5 times a day
at work.

Anyone heard that new Snoop Dog record (Sensual Seduction)?
Sounds like they've listened to Derrick's back catalogue (maybe
Juan too
for the beats).
Chart cheese I know but when pop music tips it's hat to Detroit in
some
way I always find it interesting.
