just got my hands on a clean copy of the Apocalypse Now soundtrack, and it's blowing my mind.
walter murch sound collages + dialogue from the film + copious amounts of analog synth score.... yeah, there's the gratuitous vietnam-era rock songs (the doors' "the end", CCR, etc.) but it's all mixed together seamlessly. i used to be impressed with reznor's work on the "natural born killers" soundtrack, but this predates it by about 15 years, and NBK absolutely pales in comparison. m -- "Play more things that make me dance around and less things that make me sit and look miserable in a plastic chair" - Brian Eno Blind faith in bad leadership is not "Patriotism".
