Uhhh... I think Todd's got it backwards. It's more like 8 - 10 hours through the US and 10 - 12 through Canada.

But, if you don't drive like Todd's Grandma, you can make it much faster. The drive (taking Route 80 through PA and OH and then 75 into Detroit) has never taken me more than 9 hours. For the record my personal best is 7 hours in Corvette Z06 leaving midtown Manhattan at 10PM and checking into the Athenium at 5AM....could have have made it even faster if I hadn't stopped for a sit down dinner near the water gap.

The Canadian route is too unpredictable given the two border crossings. Stick to 80.

My only advice is do not go more than 10 over the limit in OH....everyone seems to get a ticket in OH.

Happy travels....

The drive is about 12 hrs through the US, 9-10 hrs through US / Canada.

I would recommend flying if you can.
