The playlist for last week's radio show can be found at
http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=30723 .
Last week I had local patron of the arts Al from SF as a guest DJ, who
donated generously in our Fall Fundraiser. He played an ambient set of
tunes from the computer games Mysterious Journey and Deus Ex, finishing
up with a nice Robert Rich track from the double CD Trances/Drones. He
broke a long-standing jinx, as none of the other guys over the years who
donated for an hour on the air ever showed. Bravo!
This week, I'm starting off a series of "Dutch Treat" sets with a short
exploration of the back catalog of Eevolute Muzique. I was introduced to
Eevolute back in 94/95 by Gamall Awad, who at the time was living up the
peninsula from me in San Francisco and working with Jonah Sharp's
Reflective label. His tips all panned out, and were a great help back
then, as I was just getting my bearings in techno.
I wasn't thinking of doing the Eevolute set so soon, but the tracks fell
together much more easily than I expected. It'll all be material from
before the turn of the century, starting with the Florence track "The
Garden", and ending with Vladimir M's "Sex and Lies", about 16 tracks in
total.
The next treat will be from the 100% Pure label in a couple of weeks.
"The Wild Kingdom" airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Saturday night/Sunday
Morning, 12A-3A (7A-10A GMT). The webcast is at www.kfjc.org (follow the
links). Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived there.
You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show "Just
Desserts" that aired on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999. Archived
playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to New Year's Eve
1999/2000.
If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to
let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all
over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events.
If you want to do some fairly serious promotion, contact the KFJC
promotions department at [EMAIL PROTECTED] to arrange ticket giveaways
and/or to send information for inclusion in our concert outlook. Thanks
to those who have sent promo music so far.
