Yes, I parted with some hard-earned to pick it up. It's a nice enough release, well packaged, but the only things which mark it out from the standard releases in the "Chronicles" series are the box itself, the two slipmats, and Kenny's squiggle on the CD artwork. The CD itself is no different from the standard edition, and neither are the six 12"s. I think it's one of those things which is the sum of it's parts. One for obsessive completist collectors who're prepared to ignore their responsibilities and shell-out the cash for it. Guilty as charged. Musically, you know what you're getting. Consistent high-quality Detroit techno. I would expect that the majority of us subbed to the list have heard most (or all) of the tracks before, and a fair few of us will also own some (or all) of the original releases which the tracks are collected from. Kenny's "The Chronicles" mix, which can be downloaded from Rushhour after you've bought the CD, is worth getting hold of - the mixing's fine, pretty smooth as you might imagine, and when the tracks are as good as they are you can't really go too far wrong.
