IMHO,
I feel that this is a bad idea.
I have not worked with built applications, so there may not be a away 
to avoid this situation, BUT...
with the datafile inside the app package(Mac) you run the significant 
risk of deleting the datafile during an update.

I always keep the datafile outside the of the database 
structure/package.
