Hi All,

First of all, that to everyone who has replied. Your comments about storage
directory issues were much appreciated. This is a windows environment and 4D
v16. I’ve got a prototype working quite well. I capture the fully-qualified
filename of a file that the user drags and drops onto a 4D Form. From there, I
can use “LAUNCH EXTERNAL PROCESS” to launch ROBOCOPY to move that file to any
directory i want. However, before I move it, I need to rename it. Of course, I
can execute “ren filename.xxx new filename.xxx” from cmd. However, the I try to
launch RENAME with the same parameters from “LAUNCH EXTERNAL PROCESS”. I’ve
been banging my head against this for quite a few hours. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to what Windows command I can launch from within 4D to rename a
file?
