More along the lines of Tim - we had a problem recently where there was some 'stuff' being inserted into the header of the PDF. Mac Preview seems to do a great job at ignoring this, but most Windows based PDF readers don't (including Acrobat), probably for security reasons. If you save the received PDF to disk and examine it in some kind of raw text editor, do you see garbage before the PDF or does it look OK?
