Not so much a degradation as Rosegarden's timing still is not solid. I 
find it works great until such time as it starts stressing the CPU, 
which on my system means > 3 tracks playing simultaneously.

I'm using a pretty up-to date testing system. Rosegarden-1.6 is still as 
flaky as ever. We probably need to hassle Chris upstream about this.
