Yep, that's a file called splash.rle, it's got to go. This is not 
because we don't like giving credit to Ubuntu, it's because the 
Canonical trademark policy is extremely restrictive.

Yep, that needs fixing, plus we need a new bootsplash setup. This will 
be fixed by the time of the release candidates for 3.0 - my main 
concerns for the betas are stability and performance.
