I hadn't noticed that feature in the Debian installer, it does sound 
useful though.

There are a couple of things we still need to fix there.

As you have an Intel HDA sound card, you probably need a tweak. In the file:

/etc/modprobe.d/hda-intel

try values of position_fix=2 or position_fix=3 to see which gives you 
the best jackd performance.
