Yes, there were a few posts a year or so ago, so I thought I'd give this
list a shot, since people here have been so helpful. And I was quite
honestly giving up with my days of searching and finding nothing to
solve my problem.
64 Studio was great, hope they are doing well with their new project:)

As many here are, I'm running Debian these days. Recently, I have been
unable to get JACK to work with my Firepod (it used to work fine). The
messages are cryptic, and after many searches, I'm at a loss. I found one

That's not my problem.
At this point, I'm giving up on firewire and am looking at sound cards
that work with Alsa.
So, if anyone is here, do you have any recommendations for a sound card
that I could use with Debian stable (squeeze), Alsa, and JACK, Ardour, etc.?
The lists I've found are a bit outdated, I thought I might try an M-Audio
Delta 1010, but they are no longer available. I'd like to go shopping soon,
but don't want to end up with something else that doesn't work with Linux.
