I am using both 3.5.x and 4.1.2 side by side. My daily workflow is tied
to my KDE 2.5.x environment. Having said that I am migrating to the new
apps one by one. Once I replace this laptop I suspect I will be running
KDE 4.x entirely (there are some issues with nVidia and KDE4, well more
accurately nVidia's binary drivers cause problems with KDE4).

There is a world of difference between KDE 4.0 and 4.1. KDE 4.0 did not
disappoint me because I knew what to expect. How did I know this? The
KDE team told us what to expect from KDE 4.0 in the release notes, on
their web site, and in the many interviews the team members gave.

KDE 4 is a moving target, but I would say it is ready *now*. There is a
lot of FUD around KDE 4, but most of the naysayers that I have talked to
don't actually use it. I like it and look forward to what the future
holds for the kde project.
