Unlocked android, basically, but I think it's best if you can run Cyanogenmod on it. That's what we've used for all of our testing, because it's available for a lot of phones and provides a reasonably similar environment across all of them.
Since the E5 is not an Android phone, you probably won't have much luck with that one. See if there are any other Wank-ers that can run Android.
