Ron, Calvin, I agree that 9fans covers Plan 9 and its derivatives, and that 9front questions are on-topic here.
My recommendation to use the 9front list is not about whether a question belongs on 9fans. It is about where I think a 9front user is more likely to get the best answer. That is a testable claim. For every 9front question, post it to both mailing lists and compare the answers for correctness, relevance to the current 9front system, and whether they actually solve the problem. If the 9fans list consistently produces better answers, then my recommendation is wrong. If the 9front list consistently produces better answers, then there is a factual basis for my recommendation.
