I just had a thought, but it might not apply in your situation.  I
have setup SAProxy for people before.  It is a spam filter that goes
between their mail client and the server.  That SHOULD only affect
incoming mail, but there may be others out there that I am not aware
of.  Do you have something like that on the desktop?
