Partly through my experience scripting WE, I have learned how much can
be accomplished using built-in COM servers of Windows (WSH, IE, XML,
WMI, etc.), which are completely usable in VBScript. I think just a
couple advantages offered by the VS environment would be compile-time
bug checking and IntelliSense on the WE object model. The Word IDE that
Chip Orange has configured for WE scripting also offers IntelliSense, so
before someone goes for VS and its accessibility challenges, that Word
environment may be worth trying first.

The VS 2010 IDE until Window-Eyes 8. Your best bet is to stick with 2008
right now. As for using the .NET environment instead of VBScript, you
don't gain much in the Window-Eyes area, so the only real reason to do
so is because you can. But just because you can, doesn't mean you
should. <grin> That said, if the .NET environment provides you with
other tools you require, it can certainly be used with Window-Eyes
scripting.

Hi: Sorry for the second post. I have been going through the 7.1 WE
Scripting docs. The guys at GW have come a long way in developing
tools including the new UI controls.I am ReThinking the use of VB.net
as a scripting tool based on their progress in building the newer
development tools. If the person planning the scripting of VS 2010 is
still in the planning stage VBS would now seem to offer enough power
to handle most things I can think of at present.
This is just a thought but I was impressed at the work the GW staff
had done over the past year or so.
