Tom Keays asks: | Has anyone ever put together a HOWTO for serving abc, midi, gif, png, and | pdf from a server? I know of the various abc projects from sourceforge and | elsewhere. I've checked out bits of it casually but haven't really figured | out how you get past abc2ps (ie, I see how to get from abc to postscript, | but not beyond that).
Well, you can look at my scripts in http://trillian.mit.edu/~jc/CGI/abc/ You want the "ps2*" scripts. They all work by using gs (GhostScript), plus the "pnm*" programs. These all seem to come with most unixoid systems these days. The ps2png script also uses wpng, which is around in several archives. In the few cases where I've needed to get the source to these programs, I've found it via google in only one or two tries.
