The 1.6 standard says it's "Elemskip".  No, I don't know either.
I don't think it's meaningful anywhere except in abc2mtex.

Oh, N: is very useful.  It's a place where you can put any old text.
There isn't any standard way of dealing with it.  In BarFly I just
ignore it, since the abc source is always on display and the user
can read it.  A program which did not display the source in this
way might want to print it after the music.
