As others have noted, it is not accepted to allocate resources and not
releasing them.

Just to point out the obvious, allocations are dealt with in
AbiSourceCodeGuidelines.abw, pt. 6.

As a sidenote: should we perhaps change that point to read "resources"
instead of memory, and then breifly mention memory as a special (the most
common) kind of resource?
