I can't recall offhand if someone has recently been doing any work
with tab stops, but when I loaded the document

     .../docs/AbiWord_DocumentFormat.abw

into a recent debug build (on Unix with GNOME), it asserted in a
function in fp_Line.cpp looking around for a tab stop and unable to
find one:

** ERROR **: file fp_Line.cpp: line 573 (void fp_Line::layout()): assertion failed:
(bRes)

There are lots of embedded tab characters in that document. If I
comment out the assert, the document loads without incident and looks
OK to my untrained eye.
