Have you followed the instructions in the MSVC6/README.TXT?

The file psiconv/config.h.msvc maps the non-ANSI functions to the MS
conventions for non-ANSI C function names by prepending them with an
underscore. From your linker output I deduce this mapping hasn't been done.
