I got mail from Hubert Figuiere this morning asking what was wrong with
parsons.abisource.com.  It seemed to be a blown disk at first, but upon
closer inspection was just a temporary freakout of the SCSI controller
(which may have been initiated by a disk with bad sectors, or something
like that).

A hard reboot seemed to fix things.  I'll look into it more later.  
Everything seems OK now.
