On a whim, I grabbed the OSX 0.99.2 dmg.gz file. This is a very short (necessarily so) review.
First, if your intent is to install by dragging the folder from the disk image to Applications -- GREAT! That's the way it should be. Second, AbiWord fired up just fine but wouldn't open a document window -- using New, Open, drag&drop, and double-clicking a .abw document all gave the same result (nothing).
