Are you sure?
Anyway, I am not an expert, but I've seen AbiWord in a gif for a windows manager run
from cygwin. cygwin is a unix-like environment.

Abiword does not run from the cygwin shell. It is a native windows
application. The other files are linux and qnx package formats, which
will certainly not work on cygwin.
