Hello all,
I know I've heard something about the problem that I'm having several months
ago, and I'm sorry to bring it up here again, but I was completely
unsuccessful in searching the archives for the sollution. Anyways, when I
try to start abiword (by typing "abiword" in my shell), I get an error
dialog saying the following:
------
AbiWord could not load the following font or fontset from the X Window
System display server: [*-*Times New Roman-regular-r-*-*-*-0-*-*-*-*-*-*]

This error could be the result of an incomplete AbiSuite installation, an
incompatability with your X Window System display server, or a problem
communicating with a remote font server
Often this error is the result of invoking AbiWord directly instead of
through its wrapper shell script. The script dynamically adds the AbiSuite
font directory to your X Window System display server font path before
running the executable
------

I also get the following output in the shell:

------
$ AbiWord

** CRITICAL **: file color-palette.c: line 365 (custom_color_history_setup):
assertion `P->color_group != NULL' failed.

** CRITICAL **: file color-palette.c: line 483
(color_palette_get_current_color): assertion `IS_COLOR_GROUP
(P->color_group)' failed.

** CRITICAL **: file color-palette.c: line 365 (custom_color_history_setup):
assertion `P->color_group != NULL' failed.

** CRITICAL **: file color-palette.c: line 483
(color_palette_get_current_color): assertion `IS_COLOR_GROUP
(P->color_group)' failed.
------

I am running abiword 0.9.0 (from the debian package hosted on abisource.com)
on a debian woody system. I've been playing with font paths and such for a
while, but I've been unable to find a sollution. I remember seeing the
sollution to this problem some time ago, but I have forgotten it. Any help
would be much appreciated!

David
