A new problem has arisen since I installed the Ximian dependencies related to the new abiword. After a reboot, GNOME complains with the following alert:
==== Desk Guide Alert GNOME Desktop Guide (pager) You are not running a GNOME compliant window manager. GNOME support by the window manager is strongly recommended for proper desk guide operation. ==== This came after installing the Ximian versions of gal-0.14, gal-devel-0.14, gnome-print-0.31, gnome-print-devel-0.31, libgal14-0.14, & libgnomeprint15-0.31. I guess that they're not getting along with sawfish 0.36-7 or with other packages related to desktop control. I erased them using "rpm -e", then downloaded the strict Redhat versions: gal-0.8, gal-devel-0.8, gnome-print-devel-0.29, libgal7-0.8, & libgnomeprint15-0.29. I installed those and rebooted and the problem remains. I'm about to download & install sawfish & sawfish-themer 0.38-11 (Redhat 7.2), but I thought I'd get this message off in case anyone knows more about what I'm up against here. --Larry ----------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
