I recently installed abiword-gtk-0.9.4.1.src.rpm but
decided I wanted to upgrade to the
abiword-gnome-RH7.1-0.9.4.1-1.i386.rpm (Gnome
Support).

Anyway, the gnome -Uiv *.rpm install craps out upon
the upgrade saying the Abiword version installed
conflicts or is the same as the upgraded version. I
deleted the initial Abiword install directories
including the /usr/bin/abiword exec, still I cannot
install the new version. Plus if I try to downgrade
and install a lower version number, it says that the
install is older than the installed version of Abiword
and terminates, argh#.

Any ideas where the rpm is reading this info from, for
the life of me, abiword is no longer on my RH71 box,
but it's getting the dir/version number from somewhere
??
I tried to grep | abiword and even this tells me that
the abiword dir. is no longer found..confused and
dazed in abiland..my P200 shudders at the thought of
having to go back to starofficebloat 5.1
