As far as the Gnome packages, don't use them unless you are using Ximian Gnome. And if you use Mandrake, I advise against Ximian, as it breaks the nice menus Mandrake uses. The only issues I have had with installing the gtk-rpm's has been with the package name changing over time. This is easily fixed with issuing: rpm -e abisuite
Then go ahead and install the package.
