there is a version of Abiword included in the Mandrake distribution, so i assume you want to get a new version.
Uninstalling the old version is strongly recommended before installing the new version Ximian redcarpet is recommended for RedHat i would be surprised if they did not also have Mandrake RPMs (i like Ximian). [Do me a favour if you are active in the mandrake community, tell them you want the to use the XST (formerly known as Ximian Setup Tools) they would make linux a whole lot easier and users dont have to learn a whole new set of tools if they switch distributions unfortunately vested interests at various distributions mean they are unlikely to be adopted (Same goes for RedHat) /endrant] or just follow the advice of this email posted to the list earlier this week http://abisource.com/mailinglists/abiword-user/02/Jul/0135.html Sincerely Alan Horkan On Tue, 30 Jul 2002, Bob Rogers wrote: > Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2002 14:38:30 -0500 > From: Bob Rogers <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Installing Abiword > > I'm running Mandrake 8.1.
