I would recommend you get either the 1.1.2 tarball from sourceforge, or get the abi module from cvs from a couple days back; my last successful build was 11/22, but part of that was dns issues (my dns servers seem to fail to resolve *.abisource.com, luckily I have my HOSTS file, just needed to add cvs.abisource.com to it :-) You can also get an earlier STABLE tarball from sourceforge, I built both HEAD and STABLE just a few weeks ago for Windows, so if you go for not quite the latest you should be ok.
